(Bev's Blog)

Welcome to Big Moose Resort at Cooke City, Montana, at the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Big Moose Resort is located 3 miles East of Cooke City on Colter Pass, or 7 miles East of the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. If you are planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park, Big Moose Resort is the perfect place to set up "base camp". We are a small business which allows us to treat you as an individual not a number! We like to operate on a first name basis. We keep things simple, casual and at a slow pace. Our cabins are laid out spaciously to give you more room and privacy to enjoy this paradise where we live! Big Moose provides easy year round access to Yellowstone National Park, and the beautiful Lamar Valley, and a quiet relaxing place to hang your hat at the end of the day. Even though we have a "laid back" atmosphere to take you away from the "hussle bussle" city life,we offer FREE WIRELESS INTERNET
ACCESS!  For those folks who count on a cell phone, plan ahead because there is no cell service available in the Cooke City Area, not many areas of Yellowstone or the Scenic Mountain Drives from Cody or Red Lodge.  There are no phones in our cabins.  However, the office is available for your use to check in by phone.
